Gilesgate Primary PTFA Releases Single

A heartwarming new Christmas single, born from a father’s promise to his young daughter, is set to make waves this festive season - and it’s all in support of a small but remarkably diverse primary school in Durham.

The Parents, Teachers, and Friends Association (PTFA) of Gilesgate Primary School has
announced the release of “We All Love Christmas Day,” written and performed by singer-
songwriter Morigan, a member of the school community. The single will debuted
on November 21st, 2025, ahead of the school’s annual Winter Fair which took place on November 29th.

In 2024, Morigan’s 7-year-old daughter - a pupil at Gilesgate Primary School - asked him if
he would write her a Christmas song. What began as a simple, intimate father-daughter gift
grew into something far more meaningful. After hearing the finished piece, she insisted it
should be shared with the school to help raise money for the PTFA and all the children it
supports.

Moved by her wish, Morigan recorded and arranged the song professionally, offering it to the
PTFA to release as their Christmas charity single for 2025.

Gilesgate Primary School is a small, close-knit school with a specialist unit for hearing-
impaired children, known for its inclusive spirit and diverse community. Funds raised through
the single will go directly toward enhancing opportunities, resources, and experiences for the
children - particularly those who benefit most from additional support.

With its uplifting melody, heartfelt lyrics, and touching origin story, “We All Love Christmas
Day” is poised to resonate with listeners of all ages - making it a strong addition to festive
playlists and charity spotlights.

Morigan said “I wrote this song for my daughter, but she’s the one who wanted it to help others. This
release is her gift to the school she loves. I hope people feel the warmth behind it and join us
in supporting the children at Gilesgate.”
